Our group focuses on creative non-fiction: memoir, biography, medicine, history, law, science, architecture, psychology, social & current affairs, PhD thesis, etc., where content is based on reality and evidence. Our participants write a non-fiction piece of 1,000 words and email it to the other participants about a week before the meeting. At the monthly meeting, each person gives feedback to those attending on the day. The feedback is constructive and covers: style, structure, tense, grammar, voice, point of view and publishing appeal of the narrative. We help writers complete their story, nurturing their discipline to reach publishable standard. Our feedback is for emerging writers who can put a narrative through feelings, facts and figures to create a story that would appeal to a general audience. We critique the writing – not the writer.
