You want to start a blog but you’re really not sure where to begin. It could be for business, pleasure, criticism, charity, or to build a profile or portfolio. Which platform will you use? How do you make it look good? Should you have a topic or theme, or just dive in? Will you allow comments?

This two-day course will teach you how to start and maintain a blog. It will also make you think hard about your reasons for blogging, and will help you to hone your ideas before diving in. There will be examples of good blogs with loyal readerships (big and small) and an analysis of what makes them work.

At the end of the course, you will be aware of the best blogging tools that currently exist and how you can use them. You will understand how to add pictures and video to your posts. You will be informed about what kind of commenting systems you can use. And you will have been introduced to different kinds of blogging communities. The course will also give you tips on how to find readers and how to integrate your blog with other social media activities.

Blogging for Beginners will give you the knowledge and the confidence to take your first steps into the world of blogging.
