One-on-One Online: Short Stories
Is it time to take your short story writing to the next level? Receiving individual feedback is an ideal way to develop your writing skills. In this online course, you’ll receive one-on-one feedback on your stories, enabling you to hone your skills over five months. The feedback will vary depending on each story, but may focus on characterisation, structure, voice, setting or pace, among other possibilities.
Each month from April through August, you’ll submit a story of up to 1500 words via email. The following week, your tutor will return the story with tips to help you develop both that specific story and your writing in general. Each month, you can submit either new or previously submitted writing.
This course is ideal for those who have written a number of short stories, had a first publication or contest short listing, and are now keen to further develop their craft.
Email access and confidence using basic computer software.
Submissions (up to 1500 words of fiction) are due on the following dates:
Sunday 8 April
Sunday 6 May
Sunday 3 June
Sunday 8 July
Sunday 5 August
You will receive your feedback within two weeks of submission.
