Writing NSW members receive free access to our library. The library contains an extensive collection of literary journals and other writing-related publications.
Literary journals play a vital role in the development of aspiring and emerging writers and are often the first place a new writer will receive publication. Every journal is different. Specific journals often recommend writers seeking publication read a few issues before sending in their work. With the help of our library resources, writers are encouraged to do just that.
We also shelf a substantial collection of ‘how-to’ guides for writers, covering everything from getting started to getting published. Alongside these is our collection of anthologies of fiction, poetry and other Australian writing.
The library is available Monday to Friday 9am-5pm and on Saturdays 9am-1pm when courses are scheduled, pending room availability. Please make an enquiry or call Writing NSW on (02) 9555 9757 to see if it is available. Become a member to access these services.
Please note that our library is not a lending library. To borrow resources we recommend visiting your local library.
