What makes a good podcast idea?
Specificity. Who are you? What story or idea are you exploring? Who are you speaking to? What’s your point of difference to the bazillion other podcasts someone could be choosing to put in their ears? We knew there were countless podcasts out there on writing, and knew we had to make ours different enough to be worth someone’s ear time!
The First Time, your podcast about first-time publishing co-hosted with Katherine Collette, is now in its second season. What is the biggest lesson you learnt from the first season?
So many lessons – about sound and interviewing and planning ahead and so much more! But the one that has made the most difference to us has been understanding how to streamline our processes – recording, communications, marketing, etc – so that we are more efficient, and more importantly, we get each episode to as many listeners as possible.
