Another day, another full calendar of literary panels, events, launches and clubs! There’s something here for everyone, and you don’t even have to slip out of your jim-jams to attend.


July 24–August 9: The Melbourne Spoken Word Festival Online presents a socially distanced program of poetry/poets, including Thabani Tshuma, Alison Whittaker, Tariro Mavondo, Emilie Zoey Baker, Andy Jackson, Scott Wings, Melizarani T. Friday 7 August: Our First Friday Club this month features Kirsten Krauth, novelist, editor and convenor of the popular Facebook group Writers Go Forth in conversation with Program Manager Julia Tsalis. Join us on Zoom from 12:30pm. Entry is free but RSVPS are essential, book here.

7–16 August: Melbourne Writers’ Festival launches a stellar digital program this year, featuring luminaries such as Evelyn Araluen, Claire G Coleman, Julia Gillard and Kevin Kwan. Tickets are sold on a pay-as-you-can basis. Don’t miss the MWF Gala with Jess Hill, Michelle Law, Leah Jing McIntosh, Favel Parrett, Ellen van Neerven and Alison Whittaker on Wednesday 12 August.
