Amrita Hepi is an artist that works mainly with choreography and dance. She is from Bundjulung (Aus) and Ngapuhi (NZ) territories. She trained at NAISDA, then at Alvin Ailey NYC. An artist with a broad following and reach, her work has ranged from dance theatre to participatory lectures.
In 2018 she was the recipient of the people’s choice in the Keir Choreographic Award Finals for ‘A Caltex Spectrum’, and was also named one of Forbes AustralAsia’s 30 under 30. She has worked as a dancer for leading Australian Dance Companies such as Force Majeure, Marrugeku, Ochres Dance company. Furthermore, she has choreographed and devised works which have been featured in festivals and institutions around Australia and internationally.
