Omar Sakr

Omar Sakr is an award-winning Arab Australian poet, the son of Lebanese and Turkish Muslim migrants. His debut collection, These Wild Houses (Cordite, 2017) was shortlisted for the Judith Wright Calanthe Award and the Kenneth Slessor Prize. His new book, The Lost Arabs (UQP, 2019), has been shortlisted for the Queensland Literary Awards and the John Bray Poetry Award. It has also been released internationally through Andrews McMeel.
