Uthpala Gunethilake
Uthpala Gunethilake is an emerging writer who grew up in a seaside town south of Colombo, Sri Lanka, and has lived in Sydney since 2001. She has been a journalist, publicist, book editor, digital copywriter and now works in the public service. Her most recent published work is an essay celebrating suburban gum trees, included in Island Magazine’s nature writing series, following which she received a mentorship with the magazine to develop her writing. She is working on an essay, several short stories and the second book in a series of feel-good mystery fiction.
