Writing NSW is pleased to announce that our Speculative Fiction Festival will return on Saturday 24 June, directed by multi award-winning author Alan Baxter.

In June we explored the surreal worlds of science fiction, fantasy and horror at Writing NSW’s Speculative Fiction Festival.

Our Speculative Fiction Festival will be back in 2019! Send us your panel ideas and apply to be a speaker before midnight on Sunday 9 December.

Climate change is the crisis of this generation. Speaking at NSW Writers’ Centre’s Speculative Fiction Festival, Australian author James Bradley argued that as our defining social condition, the global environmental emergency provides the backdrop to literature written today.
