The Pitch Sessions are an exclusive opportunity for Writing NSW members to pitch their work directly to a literary agent in a focused, 5-minute session.

On Thursday 23 April 2026, Rochelle Fernandez, Lisa Fuller, and Abigail Nathan from Alex Adsett Literary met one-on-one with 33 Writing NSW members to hear their 5-minute manuscript pitches.

The pitches were focused, enthusiastic, and well-prepared. The agents expressed excitement at the quality of their conversations with participants, and were encouraged by the importance of the stories being told.

We are pleased to report that the agents requested more information about 15 pitches! Those participants received a special invitation from the agents to submit their work. We are wishing these writers the best of luck in the next steps of their writing journey.

The agents expressed that, even if a work was not the right fit for them, they saw incredible promise in the stories they heard and are excited to see how they develop.

We are grateful to the agents at Alex Adsett Literary for their generous time and advice during The Pitch Sessions. They created a wonderfully warm and encouraging space for writers to share their work, and their expertise provided practical insights for the participants. 

We wish our members the very best as they continue to pitch and prepare their work for publication, and hope The Pitch Sessions provided a valuable opportunity to connect directly with the publishing industry.
