An exclusive opportunity for Writing NSW members to pitch their work directly to a literary agent in a focused, 5-minute session.
Step into a one-on-one online session with a literary agent from Alex Adsett Literary and present your manuscript in a focused 5-minute pitch. Your pitch is a chance to distil your completed manuscript into a tight and targeted summary and communicate what makes it compelling.
Whether you’re seeking representation, wanting to practice your pitching skills, or simply ready to share your work at the next level, this is a valuable opportunity to connect directly with the industry.

How it works
- Places are limited and will be offered on a first-come, first-served basis to applicants who meet the eligibility criteria
- Successful applicants will be allocated a one-on-one session with a literary agent
- You will deliver a 5-minute verbal pitch for your manuscript
- Sessions will take place online via Zoom
Eligibility
To take part, you must:
- Be a current Writing NSW member
- Have a completed manuscript
- Be unpublished and not currently under a publishing contract
- Not have already participated in the Pitch Sessions at the Writing NSW Kids & YA Festival in August 2025

How to apply
Expressions of interest open on Tuesday 7 April 2026 at 11am (AET).
- Submit an expression of interest form with your details and manuscript genre
- If offered a place, you will receive an email with your session time and payment details ($45 fee)
- Payment must be made within 48 hours to secure your place
Places are limited and this event is expected to book out quickly.
Submitting an expression of interest does not guarantee a place. we aim to respond within 24-48 hours.
The agents will be accepting pitches for manuscripts in the following genres:
Important to know
- This is a pitching opportunity, not a feedback session
- There is no guarantee of publication or follow-up
- You should have a completed manuscript ready to submit if requested
- You will be allocated an agent from the Alex Adsett Literary team who works with your manuscript’s genre. You cannot request a specific agent or timeslot
- Places are strictly limited
- Bookings are not eligible for refund or credit
