Maame Blue
Maame Blue is the award-winning author of two novels; Bad Love, which won the 2021 Betty Trask award, and The Rest Of You, shortlisted for the 2025 Jhalak Prose Prize. Her short stories have appeared in five anthologies, including most recently in Queerphoria and she is a regular columnist for The Bookseller. She has been a reader for multiple short story competitions including The Commonwealth Prize and The Brick Lane Short Story Prize, and was a judge in 2024 for the John Florio Translation Prize, in 2025 for the NSW Varuna Fellowship, and in 2026 for Curtis Brown and Headline’s Romance Writing Competition. She regularly runs creative writing workshops and courses, and often mentors emerging writers working on their debut novels. She teaches for many places including Writers Victoria, Curtis Brown Creative and Australian Society of Authors, whilst also working as an editor for The Literary Consultancy and Kill Your Darlings. She is based in Melbourne.
