Many people think they’re not born creative, despite the intimations that whisper otherwise. However, new research shows that everyone was creative when they were young, and that most have been taught to dismiss it, scorn it, and eventually forget how to do it.

Over the course of this one-day workshop, you’ll recapture your creativity and go home astounded with yourself. Learn the neuroscience of creative thinking from the point of view of a fascinated novelist, bestselling author Sue Woolfe. You’ll leave the class with new tips, techniques, and an understanding of how creativity can enrich your writing.

Expected learning outcomes

Participants will:

  • Find that creativity is not something that happens whimsically- it’s reliable, voluntary and you can discuss it.
  • Find that creativity is a matter of learning and practising a few basic brain skills that you used to know, and still know deep down.
  • Find that it’s a matter of using the right brain skills at the right moment, and you’ll know when the right moment is. You also used to know this.

This workshop takes place at Writing NSW in Sydney.
