First Friday Club, our monthly conversation with an industry professional, is a chance for our community to learn more about the writing and publishing industry. This July, we invite you to our online event with Benython Oldfield.

Benython will be joining us to discuss insights from his long career in publishing – as a literary agent and the Sydney-based director of Zeitgeist Agency, representing writers and illustrators from around the globe.

This event starts online at 12:30pm, via Zoom, and will run for 60 minutes. If there is time, we will take audience questions at the end. Free and open to members and non-members, but RSVPs are essential.

Benython Oldfield Sydney based Director of Zeitgeist Agency trained as a journalist and began his publishing life at Random House in the 1990s. Within a few years Benython had an opportunity to go on a fact-finding tour of Chinese publishing with the legendary UK Agent Toby Eady. In the thrall of Eady’s bravado and inspired by 2000s China, Benython left Random House to find writers to agent in Shanghai.
