Writing Groups: Literary Fiction

Back to all writing groups

Hawkesbury Writers/Editors Group

We are a supportive group of writers meeting once a month to discuss writing elements and to help improve each other’s work by providing constructive feedback on submissions. Submissions are up to 3,000 words, and are submitted 2 weeks prior to the meeting, to be critiqued by fellow members. The critiques are then shared on the night of the meeting, along with any discussions of particular interest.

Seize the Day

We are a friendly group whose members conscientiously and constructively critique each other’s writing. Several members are prize winners. Rowena Harding-smith has won the Sisters In Crime Scarlet Stiletto Award (2018) and Vickie Laveau-Harvie has won the Stella Prize (2019). Ian McArthur has been shortlisted for the Varuna Publisher Introduction Program Fellowship (2019). Our group purpose is to assist all members to achieve their writing goals through constructive criticism and social support.

WRITESTUFF

A group that spends time writing, after giving each other word prompts. We then share our work.

Anyone who’s a member of Writing NSW can come to WriteStuff sessions: it doesn’t matter how experienced you are as a writer, only that you are serious about writing and willing to encourage other members of the group.
