Writing Groups: Screen and StageBack to all writing groups
We are a group from all walks of life that meet once a month to talk about screenwriting, film and television. You can bring along your own project to discuss or simply listen to each other talk about theirs. We aim to provide a fun and supportive environment for those looking to further develop their skills in screenwriting.
Women Writers Network
We are a combination of prose writers, poets, and playwrights. All at different levels of experience and expertise. All with the desire to become better at what we do. If you wish to read you’ll need to limit your prose to about 1000 words and have about 10 copies for us to edit as you read. Expect from eight to twelve women at any sitting and if all are reading it can be exhausting or impossible to achieve by 4pm. Unless there is great financial hardship, we all put in a gold coin each week. We welcome women writing in any genre at any stage, from just beginning to those who have been published and those struggling to be published. Many of us are a combination of both. The emphasis is on constructive feedback in a friendly, encouraging, but dedicated environment, fostering all stages of writing.
Open Genre Writers’ Group
An eclectic but committed group of aspiring authors of all levels of publishing experience, working in a wide range of genres. Biographical memoir, Sci Fi / Fantasy, poetic verse, and many more may be heard on any given night. Our members are as diverse as our work, with ages ranging from twenty-three to eighty-three. We aim to help each other develop our craft and reach our writing goals through honest feedback, incisive suggestions, and cups of tea. This group is open to anyone who is comfortable reading work aloud for an audience of receptive and supportive peers, followed by open robust discussion. All types of writing and experience levels welcome.
Allsorts Writing Group
We are a supportive, vibrant, intelligent and highly skilled bunch of writers. We write for the desire to create and express our own unique perceptions and voice. Our goal is to support each other by producing up to 2000 words of writing each month, which is then given positive and constructive critique in a workshop situation. We are open to all genres of work and encourage supportive feedback in an encouraging atmosphere.
