A good interview can challenge and illuminate. It can explore paths neither the interviewer nor interviewee expected. How do we create a space for our interview subjects to best reveal themselves and their ideas?
Drawing on techniques from documentary interviewing, this course explores how storytellers of all stripes might make the most of their interviews— before, during and after the actual interaction.
Expected Learning Outcomes
- Participants will explore deep-dive interviewing techniques with examples and discussion.
- Participants will reflect on strategies for better interviewing outcomes, including research, preparation and post-interview tactics.
- Participants will be challenged to reinvigorate their own interviewing techniques through workshopping.
