This young adult fiction writing course with Wai Chim will be held at Writing NSW in Sydney.

Do you have a great idea for a young adult novel, but you’re not sure where to start, or how to write young adult (YA) fiction? How do know if your story is YA, middle grade, or something else entirely? How do you develop an idea that will resonate with young people of today?

Join children’s and YA writer Wai Chim for a practical workshop that will help you understand how you can develop strong themes for teens and create relatable characters for this audience.

Through writing exercises and prompts, you’ll develop and workshop a YA idea, delve into how to create deeper and more engaging characters, and find your authentic and unique voice that will hook teen readers.

Finally, Wai will answer your burning questions on the publishing industry, social media and other aspects of being a modern author.
