First Friday Club, our monthly conversation with an industry professional, is a chance for our community to learn more about the writing and publishing industry.

This March, we invite you to our online event with internationally published author and editor Eugen Bacon joins us to discuss her multifaceted publishing career. We’ll discuss writing across genres, the short-story publishing landscape, what makes short stories compelling, and how Eugen ‘mentally re-engineered’ herself from a computer scientist into an award-winning author. Eugen will be in conversation with Ashley Kalagian Blunt (Writing NSW senior program officer and author of How to Be Australian, a memoir, and My Name Is Revenge, a collection of fiction and essays).

This event starts online at 12:30pm, via Zoom, and will run for 60 minutes. If there is time, we will take audience questions at the end. Free and open to members and non-members, but RSVPs are essential.
