Are you wanting to incorporate humour into your fiction writing? Or are you interested in developing a comedic script or screenplay from scratch? Ideal for beginners as well as more advanced writers, this one-day course with screenwriter and comedian Tim Ferguson, will show you the secrets of writing comedy for page, stage and screen.

In a fun and interactive learning environment you’ll devise a step-by-step plan to develop your comedy ideas, come up with engaging characters and stories and find out how to write comedy scripts that sell.

Expected learning outcomes

In this workshop, participants will:

1. Learn how to weave humour into their fiction or drama writing
2. Delve into comical characterisation and plot development
3. Come up with easy-to-use plans to take an idea from spark to page
4. Understand the mechanics of how comedy works.
