You want to build your online author platform but have no idea where to start. You want to use social media effectively, but you’re not sure how. Sound like you? This workshop will cover steps on how to build your author brand using great online tools.
In this 3-hr online workshop, Kristyn M. Levis will introduce you to the principles of developing your author platform, including advice on using a personal website and author social media pages to create an online presence for you and your books.
Whether you’re an emerging writer looking to build an author brand and create an online presence, or you have several published books but you haven’t found the time or expertise to create a website or social media accounts, this seminar is for you.
Please note: this workshop provides advice on digital tools, but does not provide in-depth instruction on using any websites or platforms.
We’ll cover:
- Advice for creating your personal website
- Deciding which social media platform is best for you
- Tips for running your author social media page(s)
- How to create engagement through social media
- Advice on creating an author newsletter
Expected learning outcomes
In this workshop, participants will gain insights into:
- Setting up an author website
- How to use social media to help boost your profile
- Where to find the tools to help with your author platform
Participant requirements
This workshop takes place on Zoom. You will need a secure internet connection and confidence using basic computer software to take part. Participants will also need something to write on – there will be exercises.
Some experience navigating online platforms is helpful for this course. Beginners welcome.
